About us
We love rats, they are amazing pets. They bring us so much joy, and we love being able to give them happy and enriched lives.
From time to time you need to go away, and while you are away we can provide a friendly home from home for your pet rats, with us in Brighton.
At Cosmo’s rat shack we know how important your rats are to you, and understand the level of care you want from a small pet boarding service. We aim to give them as much love and care that they get at home with you, during their stay with us.

Boarding with us
We provide a reliable boarding experience where you can be assured your rats will be cared for as part of our family.
We have a dedicated Coco Large cage for your boarding mischief, for up to 5 female rats, and 4 male rats. You can also bring your own cage if you prefer.
We supply dust extracted shredded cardboard or wood shavings substrate, depending on what your rats are used to. We also have a selection of bedding, back2nature litter, hammocks, ropes, and activity toys. We have a 16 inch Tictac wheel and other enriching entertainment. They will be given opportunities to free roam, snuggles and healthy treats daily.
If your rats are elderly and require specialised care, including daily medication, please let us know when completing your booking form. We are experienced with giving medication and caring for elderly rats in our own rolling mischief.
We are insured with Protectivity.
Cost
We charge £5 per rat per day, with a maximum of £15 per day. Mischief numbers of over 3 rats will still be £15 per day.
In order to hold your dates we ask that a 50% deposit be paid at time of booking, and the remaining fee be paid on the first day of boarding.
Settling and Food
We aim to provide everything your rats need, but to help your rats settle into their holiday home, we recommend you bring one of their hammocks to have a familiar smell with them.
We make our own food mix based on a shunamite diet, and can give regular fresh food treats. But if you wish to provide your own food just bring it along with you.
